Koreans are also naturally very intelligent and highly sophisticated and capable for most public matters. It is an embarrassment to an Asian nation — be it a Korean, Japanese, Chinese or otherwise – to fail in a foreign subject matter or to dishonor his or her own country in any way.

If only Americans had this zeal and overall stringent upbringing, then U.S. society would be far different from the uneducated mess that it is today. Media and politics would certainly change, would they not? We can thus learn many good things from the rich educational history of Korean Americans.

The best way to learn is first by first-person example. For instance, simply observe the Asian honor roll students in your school, and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. They’re on a roll, and it’s not just the honor roll to but a roll for greater things to come. They have a passion and a fire for learning and for excellence, which all of us can learn from. How was the Education System in the United States in 80’s?

The 1980s education system in America was somewhat different from today’s though not 100%. What today’s education systems lack in rigor and challenge, they somewhat made up for three decades ago.

We must keep in mind the following: The 1980s were time that faced the ongoing results of the disastrous Sexual Revolution, among certain unhealthy influences in Hollywood that only further sought to this educate the masses.

Hollywood was also at a time in its rising in which it sought to change education from within by telling it what to think about, also known as Agenda Setting Theory. Agenda Setting Theory is far more prevalent today than it has ever been; the movement began not too late after the 1970s. Read more: Phoenix New Time and Village Voice Media | Wikipedia

It’s no secret that Hollywood rules the media, and the media rules the world. In a sense, it certainly has told all generations how to think and what to think about. It’s no different today; in fact, it’s far worse as students are simply given handouts and free passes as opposed to being challenged to work for what they believe in and to have some values of their own. It’s easier to let the iPhone, iPad, Kindle reader, tablet, or videogame tell them how to think or to simply think nothing.

This is a sad fact altogether. Although many negative roots existed in America’s education system in the 1980s, they were not as bad as they are today.

In turn, migrants’ rights and capabilities have been affected – some for the worse and some for the better. Many have fewer opportunities for an education while some have greater ones.

Doe Deere: The Ultimate Beauty and Lifestyle Superstar

Doe Deere is the founder and CEO of Lime Crime Makeup which was established in 2008, two weeks before Halloween. When establishing her line, she was working on finding cosmetics that will match her eccentric, yet colorful wardrobe. And as a result, her brand became an astounding success, first by the introduction of the Unicorn Lipstick in 2009. With these lipsticks, customers have a radical array of lip colors that are bold and go outside the box. Her next hit came in 2012 with Velvetines, a liquid lipstick craze.

A few months ago, Deere did an interview concerning a morning beauty routine. With her astounding beauty and amazing brand line, millions wonder how she stay so put together. She stated that every morning she wakes up at 8:30 am with no alarm, and she ensures she has nine hours of sleep each night. Deere also normally takes her showers at night so that her hair can dry and is ready to style in the morning. Also, Deere stated that good rest is her secret to maintaining clear skin. She also starts her day by drinking a full glass of water, and she does some stretches. She then eats a healthy breakfast which is normally grits, yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, and fruit.

After this, she gets dressed, do her hair and makeup, and starts her day. To start her day, she lives by her calendar on her phone in which she checks upon waking up. This calendar directs her life, and she stays in touch with her team with internal company chats. That way, she knows the status of everything before going to her office. She also checks and responds often to emails throughout the day. Otherwise, she try to keep the digital devices to a minimum to concentrate more on the creative side.

When it comes to her hair and makeup, she does the following:

  1. Uses her Glossier face wash.
  2. Uses a moisturizer, mainly the Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence.
  3. Then she applies foundation, powder, blush, and lipstick. The main items she use include L’Oreal’s ‘True Match Foundation’ (or MAC’s Studio Fix for nightlife), red or pink blush, and bold pink or red lipstick, including Rustic, Pink Velvet, and Red Velvet and Pink Velvet most of the time from her Velvetine line.
  4. For her hair, she creates her signature shiny waves with a curling wand.
